As explained in the thread SpaceMonkey linked, the next rank is at 200 total posts.

Hg2491, read a few (well OK a few hundred posts) in the lounge and then you might find your answer. To your sarcasm question that is.

I moved to Windows because of job requirements, then I had new hobby - digital photography, bought Nikon DSLR camera and participated in some heated Nikon-Canon wars (same as the Mac-PC wars); and I suddenly found that I haven't checked MacNN for more than 2 years.. But I surely liked Electronista, which is sister site and check it reqularly - does it make me still MacNN regular?

This is an interesting thought - what if forum rank was based on the post count rate, not total? That'd be pretty interesting.

We would then be able to gang up and publicly humiliate a member.

That was a very logical answer, sek929. It's actually very original.

Think about it guys. Imagine that a Clinically Insane member stops visiting the forums. After a year or two, he would still be Clinically Insane because he has the same number of posts, whereas if the rate was considered, he would be downgraded.

Do you really think somebody who's posted on MacNN 15000+ times gets more sane just because he takes a short break?

Yeah whatever Mr. 2.3-posts-per-day. The only real NNer is one who averages over 5 posts per day.
My Gossamer account was retired over a year and a half ago and still has a 5.3 average.

Well if you take my total posts and divide it by the length of time you've been here...it would equal you being an ass.
