After being publicly annoyed that my Core Duo arrived with a significant flaw, and that Apple took it back only to quote me a March 6th shipdate on its replacement, I have to make an even bigger point of how they corrected the matter.

Apple sent me the shipping confirmation indicating that it left Shanghai on the evening of February 9th (Feb 10th in China). Nearly a month ahead of time and less than a week after I sent my old one back to them.

Thank you, guys.

After a long wait, my iMac CD 20" 256MB video has also shipped. I'd thought they might've been sitting on it until things got sorted out-- let's hope this bug is behind us all.

I hope there are more stories like yours. If I were Apple I would save up so much money before this move to intel and get ready to really suck up to customers who have the smallest issues to make sure it goes real smooth. I am in two minds about doing so many transitions with the mac on one hand it gets rid of legacy designs in the hardware and on the other hand it makes it difficult to always move smoothly from one mac to another. I'm glad your replacement is coming soon.

Mine has shipped also. Delivery due on Monday. 20"iMac with 256 video ram that seems to have caused quite the problem. Looks like a big new shipment has gone out and we can all start reporting our experiences. Fingers crossed. Have to say that I'm a bit apprehensive.

All they have to do is to re-format the drives with a different OS build - not really a new/improved batch
iMac Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 1.25GB RAM | 160HD, MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 13.3" | 60HD | 1.0GB RAM

No need to make any hardware changes, it's only a software problem in the latest OS X build (8G1171 IIRC; 8G1165 is fine).

It's supposed to be here on the 15th, but it has already left Anchorage, so who knows?

I still think that they should stop outsourcing to India for customer service . . . . the CSRs that i've dealt with are really difficult to understand.

I just got my shipped notice. It originally wasn't supposed to ship until the 15th!

So far, so good.

Congrats! Mine is due on Valentine's Day. I'm having outpatient surgery on the 13th, so it will be nice to have something fun to do while I'm recovering next week.

FYI. My 20" iMac (256MB vram, 256GB hd) arrived with build 8G1172. However, upon reinstallation from the enclosed media, my build is now 8G1171.

I am running with dual monitors...so I have not witnessed any of the video issues. (still getting things installed/configured though)

My new machine arrived today. I'm very pleased with it.

Of course, Apple managed to figure out it was a software glitch in the time it took to swap them out.

Eh, it happens.

I recieved mine today too (20" 256MB Vram, 1GB ram). After figuring out where to check the about this machine I am running build 8G1454 (I was prompted to install 10.4.5, and did so before checking what it was originally installed with).

No problems with frontrow, it shows 256MB vram. Not sure what other problems people have posted, but haven't seen any that I can recall.

Yeah, after updating mine is running build 8G1454 as well. Just thought it was interesting that the media they send was a different build than what was installed.

I am LOVING this iMac so far. WoW looks absolutely INCREDIBLE!

I'm very happy with my core duo as well. WoW plays much smoother now. BTW, you WoW users should know there is a hidden option (still experiemental) to boost performance in crowded areas. In your config.wtf, put the following line in:

SET M2Faster "1"

You should see a noticable improvement.
