Well any one update it to use the new 10.3 aqua background instead of the old 10.2 desktop icon? I might do it, I wanna do it, just strapped for time. If any one has updated it , please post it.

Nice, close but not quite to my levels of perfection , I'm mad anal retentive so just broke down and made my own instead of messing with yers to keep it as close to the original, some of yer stuff was off, the aqua icon was 2 pixels to low, and some shadows where off. But still nice work. The graphite version will be out with GAC 10.3 (v.5) in a few weeks.

How do you make the icon a .icns file? ex, icon's i've downloaded from Xicons and such.

update: how do i apply these, as it tells me that the systemicons.bundle can't be modified?

Thanks,
cs

I use CanCombineIcons to convert icons to TIFF, PNG or ICNS files, but you can also use other apps...

Ok, i changed permissions for the systemicons.bundle, and replaced the desktop icon. restart, and boom...kernel panic. had to re-install everything. What is the correct way to do this ?

Thanks,
cs

Why didn't you use Candybar ??? No need to modify the systemicons.bundle yourself...

NO NO NO NO NO. Ypu need ot enable root user, log in as root, move the old icon out, move the new icon in, reboot. repair permissions. then delete the old icon if you want.
