Warcraft II Battlenet Edition?

So I've been on a Warcraft 2 kick lately.
First I played around with the open-source Stratagus project, and I got it to compile under OS X, but it seems that the Warcraft 2 data set has not been kept up to date, so I couldn't get it to work right (though I did use the Battle of Survival data set - that game's pretty fun, too).
Then I started wondering about just buying a copy of the Battlenet edition off of eBay, but does anyone know if it will run in Classic? Or if Blizzard even still offers Battlenet servers for Warcraft 2?

B.net servers for WC2 are still up to my knowledge.

It does still run in classic. Although I would still like it if there was a native version as I don't like having classic installed.

Same here. I used WireTap Pro to get the music from it, which is part of the attraction, but not having to have Classic installed would be a big step. Having said that, I'm playing too much WoW at the moment to seriously play WC2  .

Just in case someone finds this thread in the future while trying to get Wargus to work under Mac OS X, I just wanted to post again and say that I *did* get it to work eventually. Apparently the Wargus project is up to date, but you can't use a Battle.Net Edition disc to extract resources, you have to use one of the older discs.
