Yeah, veeery curious about price on the iPod Touch.

On the other hand, won't it be frustrating to have WiFi, so you can hop on and do Web stuff -- sometimes? I mean the whole point of the iPhone, I thought, is the ability to access the internet without really having to think about whether you're on WiFi or cellular.

The update iPod Classic looks great. They just keep relentlessly focusing on battery life and size.

Hmmm... yeah, it may straddle the Nano and the Classic in terms of storage capacity.

I wonder if "A Little Video for Everyone" refers to the miniscule amount of the stuff you can put on the new Nanos.

Not confirmed yet. IF it is true, then there are going to be many, many upset people out there.

Right again... *sigh*

I have to admit, I bet the battery life if it were HDD based would be ass. Probably the heft, too.

I have a 60GB iPod and it's filled. A 16GB iPod Touch doesn't make me sad because I have an iPhone.

Well, it does make me sad. I'd rather have a bigger iPod touch with HD than a leightweight glorified internet tablet.

The 5 hour battery life for video playback is nice, but 16 GB still doesn't seem like enough. I hate swapping music back and forth.

Unpossible.

That wopuld make the 8 GB iPhone the same price as the 16GB iPod touch. Can't believe this would be happening.

Yep, I was commenting to my coworkers that with a 80GB and a MacBook, I can't say I'm all that disappointed not to have an iPod Touch.

Hm...I think next paycheck I'm going to have to pick up a Touch. After having my 2GB Nano for 8 months, I finally filled it last week so 8GB is more than enough for me, and it would be amazing to have on campus with wi-fi everywhere.

First off, I don't drink coffee. It pisses off my stomach to no end. Second, if I wanted to know what song's playing I'd just ask someone. Underwhelmed.

I was excited at the prospect of a touch but 16 gb just doesn't seem worth it. For such a nice device, I think they should have gone with a standard drive especially considering people wanting to put video on it.

Wow, the Starbucks feature is laaaaammmmee. I was expecting them to announce free WiFi at Starbucks for iPhone/iPod Touch users. That would have been awesome.

@starman, it is underwhelming, but I'm sure there is something in it (probably something very lucrative) for Apple for the feature to be there.

16gb is a bit paltry, but so is my wallet right now.
If it were at least 30gb or more I would be running in circles.
WiFi is great though!!!

+ I like the new nano, very cool.

The new Nano look has grown on me. I think I'd rather have one than the new iPod touch. If I was going spend that much, I'd just go the extra step and get an iPhone.

And why haven't they said anything about Mail? The capability is there with the WiFi...they probably just don't want to offer ALL of the iPhone's features (minus the phone part).

Honestly, if the old Nanos drop in price significantly, I may pick up one of them. I certainly don't need the video function.

Exactly. Thanks for the opportunity to spend money but not take advantage of the cool new features I paid $400 for.

Yeah, all of these new iPods look very sick, but to be honest, all I need is my 4gig Nano. I have no need for video or wifi on my iPod.

Small, durable and plays a decent amount of music. That's all I need.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Well my thinking is, I'd like a flash based ipod for working out, and I already have an 80GB that holds my library and provides me with video.

What's stopping someone from using Gmail's webmail in Safari? Inconvenience? I'm sure someone will figure something out. I'm getting excited now. Not to mention there will be a student discount.

I think they'd agree with you, but they couldn't add a useful screen for watching movies on the old form factor without having you turn the thing horizontal.
