Is it even possible? I thought I had seen photos of rack-mounted G5 towers running fine, I'm just curious as to whether or not anybody knows of any cons or operational issues that might arise in doing so. Thinking about mounting it flush on its side from the ceiling with suspended VESA arms for the monitors.

how would you use the optical drive?

While in operation, the medium doesn't touch the caddy, so it will work. Running the drive upside down, however...

Wouldn't it be better for the CPU's, since the heat would be going straight up away from it? Now my guess is CPU 1 gets some of the heat of CPU 2 cause heat goes up, even with the fans running. I see it my system, CPU 1 is always hotter than nr.2... at idle use
