I'm looking for a kick @$$ Mac game that I don't have to pay for. Any suggestions?

Nothing really sticks out for me, but you can always browse through the archives at www.download.com
And then, of course, you could play the demos of all the high-zoot games of today.

Yeah, I found Dominoes (v1.2 by Mike Perry) at www.download.com, and that is a really great game! Now, I'm looking for something with a little more... ah... stimulation. Bolo, I remember playing that years ago. Maybe I'll just have to pony up and pay for my entertainment.

No, it's not freeware (it's shareware), but it's pretty much un-hindered...
AND ADDICTIVE.
Snood!

Yeah, I know it's not freeware, but it's still my favorite game. I think Ambrosia just makes good games. It's called Escape Velocity. Also, their Ferazzels Wand is pretty cool too. Not that expensive either, and you get a nice trial period.

It's been years, but I used to play a game called Continuum constantly for a few minutes of spare time entertainment. It was a monochrome space/maze shooter with varying gravitational fields and some really tricky levels. I'm sure it's quite gone by now, and has not been updated to support current OS or platforms. But it was a great time waster.

Unless Ambrosia has gone back and redone their older games, most of their initial games were all free and you could pay for them. Try Barrack, Apeiron, Swoop, Escape Velocity, or Escape Velocity: Override. All are great games, especially Escape Velocity.
