Why does Safari delete all my cookies even though I didn't tell it to?

Every once in a while, like once a month, Safari will just delete all my cookies. I have automatic logins to sites like Facebook, Digg, MacNN, and other forums, and then what happens is one day I have to log in to all those sites all over again.

Safari just did it again today which reminded me to start this topic. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if you know why it happens?

Yes that happens to me as well... though never at MacNN.

That's weird, I've never lost any cookies although some sites never allow me to save login information (that's why I use 1PassWd). Never lost cookies though...
