Jenna Jameson thinks so. From JustHillary.com...
Jenna Jameson, who's been called the world's most famous porn star and is the author of the New York Times bestseller "How To Make Love Like a Porn Star," talked about Hillary Clinton in an interview with PR.com....May 17, 2007...
...
PR.com: "Do you find that the climate of the adult industry changes when there is a Republican administration versus Democratic?"
Jenna Jameson: "Absolutely. The Clinton administration was the best years for the adult industry and I wish that Clinton would run again. I would love to have him back in office. I would love to have Al Gore in office. When Republicans are in office, the problem is, a lot of times they try to put their crosshairs on the adult industry, to make a point. It's sad, when there are so many different things that are going on in the world: war, and people are dying of genocide...I look forward to another Democrat being in office. It just makes the climate so much better for us, and I know that once all our troops come home, things are going to be better and I think that getting Bush out of office is the most important thing right now."
A psychologist that my family is close to says that in about 60% of the failed marriages that he's attempted to help couples work out, the male in the relationship at some point developed a problem with pornography. The habit causes the man to develop a skewed perception of what to expect sexually from his wife, which either causes or intensifies sexual problems at home.
Is it a good sign to be the favored candidate of such an industry? And on a separate note: who can actually defend the pornagraphic industry?
Too bad too. We fundamentalist conservative Christian wackos were really counting on Jameson's support in '08.

Well obviously, if a single person attests to something... it must be true.
My brother used to live in the south... but he moved cuz everyone was a redneck, intolerant buffoon. Or so he says... so it must be true.

You seem to be suggesting that people don't look at porn in 60% of successful marriages as well. I don't believe this.
From all I can tell, the fundamentalist war on pornography always has been and always will be people with sticks in their asses trying to find reasons to hate something that they're going to hate anyway.

And of course, with many women trying their best to be men and engaging in porn viewing themselves, I anticipate a problem with the woman developing a skewed perception of what to expect from her hubby. Although, let's face it, this has been going on in a different way since airport news-stand romance novels were invented.
Porn is for losers. No wonder it's very Dem-friendly.

I would suspect that a lot of people could defend the porn industry, as it is the most successful commercial enterprise on the web. There are a lot of adults who view porn, and there are a lot who make porn.

Generalize much? I'd like to see you back that up with some facts. Oh, what am I thinking; Republicans don't view porn, excuse me.

I'm not sure I could defend the porn industry... only because I don't know much about it. That said, I can defend porn. It's like blaming the alcohol industry for alcoholics... or the tobacco industry for lung cancer. Conservatives are always preaching about personal responsibility. Why can't they blame the user of pornography for using it... instead of blaming the pornographers themselves.

Its more likely a symptom than a cause. Lose interest in the wife and where do you turn next...

Don't forget not to vote for Kerry back in '04. That's what would have Osama wanted!

I could see Hill with a whip and Bill with random phallic-like objects.

That's what I meant to say, but I didn't state it properly. And you're right about the selectivity when it comes to affixing blame; it's easier to generalize than to look inward.

That's an egregiously simplistic interpretation.
This is more a question of where society's responsibility for being overwhelmingly misogynist ends and people's responsibility for buying into it begins.
The porn itself is like, so incidental.

It's ok. You guys already have Mary Carey:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8242393/
CAREY: "I really wanted to meet President Bush, though, like, you know, up close and personal. I was kind of disappointed.
OLBERMANN: And that never—that was never even close, that.
CAREY: No, they actually—I was told that they had people ready to tackle me if I tried to, you know, get up close to him. And they were worried about me maybe flashing or streaking through the dinner. And I mean, I can‘t believe they‘d think I would do that. I‘m a serious politician. I would never want to, you know, jeopardize my, you know, future career like that.
OLBERMANN: Well, despite the fact that you didn‘t get to meet the president and there were other limitations to the evening, was it fun anyway?
CAREY: I had a great time. You know, Republicans can party almost as much as porn stars.
(LAUGHTER)
CAREY: I think they can drink just as much. There were some really drunk guys by the end of the night. I was getting propositions to have threesomes with wives or mistresses. I was offered money from oil tycoons! I mean, it‘s pretty exciting. I didn‘t take any money and I didn‘t do any threesomes, but it was pretty—I was just surprised. I thought everyone would be stuck up and no one was going to like me. And everyone loved me and got drunk and took pictures with me. So I want to keep going to Republican events. I‘m a fully converted Republican now."

No - Republicans tend to repress their desires and are eventually caught with cheap hookers instead.

Even better. Playboy's and Penthouse's local statistics show they sell more in Republican neighbourhoods.

I dunno... this isn't exactly to do with porn, but the internet can make it easier to cheat.
For instance, not so long ago, I found that my boyfriend had been talking with guys he met through some sex site. After seeing this, I tried to ask him what was wrong with our relationship, and got dumped instead. You can imagine how upset I was.
Was this cheating? How long was it going on for? Would something like this have happened without the internet making it so easy? Who knows.

1. Anecdotal evidence. There is no proven link connecting sexual preferences to political affiliations, no matter what Doofy thinks.
2. Marriages where the couple has enlisted professional help to deal with problems haven't failed yet.
3. That psychologist has absolutely no business telling you, or anybody else not involved with these cases in a medical capacity, about his clients.
4. People turning to porn instead of their partner looks to me a symptom, rather than the root of a problem. If you communicate your desires then you don't have to whack off to porn. Unless you're both ok with that of course.
5. My personal stance on porn is that it's a personal decision. Some people, of both sexes, enjoy it, some don't. My main problem with it is that, especially young and female, performers are often exploited and abused. otherwise, as long as it's consenting adults, whatever floats your boat.

Kenneth Starr and his report did more for the distribution of explicit pornography than any Democratic politician ever had before or has since.

Actually, I've read a couple of articles recently that say the online pay for porn industry is in a decline, because so much of it is available for free now.

So then if a man watched a whole bunch of really nasty porn (the bad kind of nasty), does that mean the marriage is going to be outstanding?

Perhaps we need federal aid, or price supports? We must preserve this vital industry! Maybe it's cheap foreign imports that are destroying the American porn business?

I don't think the two things are related in any simple or causal way.
