Apple is attempting to prevent leaks for the
iPhone 6 from slipping out, by allegedly getting help from Chinese authorities. The company is said to be concerned enough about leaks for the smartphone that it is going after accessory manufacturers who are producing items specifically for the iPhone 6, just in case any important details are accidentally made public before Apple's unveiling.
Serial leaker Sonny Dickson
claims on Twitter that there are "about 200 security officers trying to catch those who dare to sell i6 accessories," as a reply to his own post about the apparent involvement of authorities in the country. While this could refer to 200 people working on behalf of local authorities, it could also point to the number of people employed to secure the
Pegatron and
Foxconn production facilities in the region.
Dickson has a fairly accurate track record in terms of Apple-related leaks. Last year, Dickson
leaked images of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C parts that were apparently sourced directly from Apple's supply chain.
