Quicksilver dual 800

gig of ram

Hi Folks,

I'm running out of space on my original drive (80 gigs) and am shopping for a new internal hard drive at least 200 gigs or so. I've got a second drive installed which has music and pictures only.

Anybody got a good deal recently? Recomendations?

Thanks
Bill

I picked up a Seagate Barracuda 200GB drive for $75 shipped on Amazon a few weeks ago. Check out the third party sellers, they usually have really good deals. On eBay them seem to all go for about $85-90 used.
I've got a 1gHz DP QS with a 120 and 200 GB Barracuda drives, and they're great.
ST3200822A-RK 200 is the model # I went for (it's not advertised as a Barracuda drive, but on the drive itself it's labeled as a 7200.7 rpm Barracuda drive).

I don't have a specific recommendation, but I would definitely check out the Anandtech Hot Deals Forum to see if there are any current rebate offerings.

Seagate is a good brand, but their famous 5 year warranty is probably overhyped. Who really RMAs a 5 year old hard drive, anyway? You could just buy another drive that's probably four times as big for half the original price! They do often have good rebates, though.
