Quicktime question

	Hey All. Certain mpeg files lock my desktop up when i try to play them using quicktime. The video freezes, I can move my mouse around but can't click on anything, the dock doesn't animate and I can't force quit. The only option is to hold down the power button till the machine shuts off and then turn it back on, which I know isn't the best thing to be doing. -Quicksilver dual 800, gig of ram, 10.4.8, up to date FULL version of quicktime- Anybody have any suggestions on how to stop this from happeing or what might be wrong?
