Can you be more specific?

What do you mean, "cannot access any servers?" Which servers?

Apparently not. I think we'll need more info. Sounds to me like Juno's website has Java issues. What do you use Juno for? From what I remember, Juno is just for email. Have they turned into a full-fledged ISP? They've always had a real bad attitude towards Macs. You probably would be better off with a different ISP.

I think Juno has joined up with NetZero.

Ahh...yes. I do remember seeing those TV ads now. Still - I remember them from their email-only days, and they were almost violently anti-Mac. I'd never give them a dime of my money, and would recommend against them to anyone else.

Juno has served me fairly well....for a year. Then the Apple Java update.

I use Juno because it is $9.95 a month.

Someone told me I need to reinstall OS 10.3...that will wipe out the
Java update I used. Anyone know how I can back track like that?

Call Juno tech support? It doesn't look like many people here use Juno, much less know about its inner workings.

As for how to reinstall: back up, wipe drive, install OS, restore documents from backup. Or at least that's how I do it.

Also:

Just do an Archive & Restore - less hassle as it doesn't erase your documents or apps.

I don't think you can downgrade from Java updates, so you will have to reinstall your system to remove it, like others said.

I don't know about those $10 ISP's, but would a competing service work (Is NetZero the same company as Juno?)? Though I don't see how a Java update could brake web access.

If I use OS 10.3, and I reinstall it...that won't effect other documents and applications on my computer?

If you do an Archive and Restore, your documents and apps will be preserved.

However, you better make sure that your problems with Juno's service is truly related to the recent Java update and not something else (i.e., something on their end) before you go messing with your OS. Can you test it on another Mac with all the latest updates? I've read nothing but good comments on the recent Java updates.

I just don't see how the Java update would affect PPP dial-up connections and non-Java based internet services.
