I recently upgraded my G3 Beige Desktop with an OWC MercuryZA G3/500mhz from Other World Computing for $209.99

It's an OEM processor, but it's been running fine for me at 533mhz (as high as the beige will go at the 66mhz bus setting). It also hasn't needed any L2 cache enabling software.

I also maxed out the RAM to 768mb, OWC has good prices on mac memory (cost me only about 50 bucks to buy the additional 2 256mb DIMMs I needed). WIth an ATI Radeon, it screams running OS 9, and is not too bad with OS X 10.1

Have a revA 233 G3DT with an xlr8 mpe 466 Mz G4. I bought ram at a local showandsale at bargain price and works fine. The original WD 4gig HD is replaced with a 45MB IBM deskstar. I run X10.1.1 and 9.2.2 ni classic. Haven't overclocked and all works just fine. Since X is altivec enabled it screams ... er ... runs fast. Actually just about everything has been upgraded except the case, mother board and power supply.
