Readers please do not confuse this with eXec from COTL GUI Studio... That one is still pending a release date.

Well... I don't like it. I think the use of gradients aren't done properly. The bright aqua blue seems to detract from the metal look.

Woah! This is definitely not an executive theme. Maybe the creator was going for irony though?

I doubt it, they probably think it looks pretty good.

I think it looks okay but it's not to my taste. Certainly the author has put a lot of thought into it, and has gone as far as to create all of the necessary elements (which is nice change for a theme featured at ResEx). I like the way it is mostly aluminium, but with highly polished or "chrome" end caps on buttons, titlebar etc. I don't like the active window Widgets, scrollbars and active buttons though. I think the blue is too close to Aqua blue and reminds me of an imcomplete theme at first, if you see what I mean. The Widgets are a bit fussy, too.

Still, it is nicely executed for what it is, and a nice addition for fans of highly metallic themes. I'll stick with X-Metal though.

I second that. You can see the work and care that went into it.
may not be my thang but it is pretty tight.

put it along side:
Metallika and Silverwood,
although I really like those Metallika widgets...

That theme is old, so I wouldn't attribute it to any current theming trend you see...

Anyway, everyone has to start somewhere, that's what ResEx is for (sortof...) Kudos to him for actually trying; that's more than can be said for many people, regardless of the outcome.

It's better than 99% of the other themes that get submitted to ResEx.

lol.. The only salvation would be NickelCobalt, but right now it's going sloooow..

I'm making a theme template package that might help people make more consistent and better looking theme though. It will include extracted symbols for appskin and all the button and states in a couple of psd files. I'm pretty much done except I haven't made a template for scrollbars yet.

This theme is at least reasonably complete with some very nice elements. O.K. it's no Pro LCD or BBX Mercury but its a really good start. There are some really crappy themes out there and I think Yom should be proud of his theme.

It's not a bad theme. And it is complete. I liked the look it gave Safari though the double tubes clashed a bit with the menu bar. And the carbon background was a decent touch. It could have a few tweak but it seemed a respectable theme.

Now, if eXec ever makes it...

Gaaaahhhhhhh... thanks for ruining my week Max!

Sheesh, I wish there was something I/we could do to help it along, like taking the original PSD file and creating whatever artwork you need to finish the thing.

Yeah, I have to admit this theme looks better installed and implemented than it does in the picture...

I don't have any room to talk; my first theme was terrible.

It's a good start.

I'm not even going to attempt a theme, because it will probably end up looking like that pile of turd!
