My iPod touch has always had ridiculously slow video buffering, be it Quicktime or YouTube play, which is really all the same. I just figured I'd shoot it this way and see if anyone knows a fix. Google really doesn't.

Buffering and loading of videos work fine on computers and other devices in my house. It just makes any video viewing on my iPod impossible.

Time scales, like how long are we talking here, seconds, minutes? Speed of your Internet connection? Wireless router type and speed (b or g)?

Minutes, easy. And the iPod only seems to cache so much video, so I play that amount and it will hit the buffer again shortly after that, having loaded nearly no new video.

It's a Wireless G 1 megabit connection.

Are you using any wireless security on your network? Try turning it off on the router and on the Touch to see if that helps.

Have you tried this Touch on other wireless networks, like at a friend's or elsewhere, and seen the same problem? If not, it's your network. If so, something's up with the iPod. Try a full back up and restore through iTunes. If that doesn't fix it, time to go to an Apple store.
