Bose is taking on Sonos by making a version of its SoundLink speakers that are designed for home use. The SoundTouch range of wireless home audio speakers consists of three speakers that all connect over an existing Wi-Fi network, and are able to pull audio from song libraries on the local network as well as over the Internet.

The speakers have numbered buttons that can be set to play music from specific Internet radio stations, or pre-selected albums or artists, reports The Verge. These presets can be configured via the accompanying SoundTouch app for desktops, iOS, and Android, and though it will only ship with connectivity to Pandora and Airplay at launch, it will apparently work with Deezer and iHeartRadio in the future.

Three speakers make up the SoundTouch range so far, and are available to buy today. The larger SoundTouch 30, priced at $699, offers a built-in woofer, while the marginally-smaller SoundTouch 20, costing $399, is meant for smaller rooms. The SoundTouch Portable, also priced at $399, is the smallest of the three, but is supplied with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that allows it to be moved around.

Aside from these initial three speakers, a SoundTouch music system along the lines of the Bose Wave line is being prepared for a December launch, with other SoundTouch items also being planed for future release.
