Hi, I'm having a problem connecting to roadrunner, any advice please.

Everything is connected and verified working except I don't get on the internet. My powerbook 3400c, OS 8.1, has all requirements met.

roadrunners own medic software says "there is no ethernet adapter correctly bound to TCP/IP" which means? I can't seem to get that portion connected.

thanks, cc

You say everything is 'verified working', but this clearly isn't the case. You don't say what you have tried.

From the error message, it sounds like TCP/IP isn't setup correctly. Have you checked the TCP/IP control panel? At the top, it should say 'Connect via:' and the name of the interface it's expecting to use. Make sure it says whatever's appropriate for your machine.

First make sure the top three lights on the modem are on.
second Set tcip control panel to connect via ethernet.
third configure using DHCP.
fourth get the name server address from Road Runner software.
If you ran the RR setup CD your personal info should be in the Internet control panel.

Hope this helped.

Thanks, but trust me when I say the connections are verified. I've checked with six RR tech people. I researched several articles on the subject, and it seems like MTU on my powerbook is too small, as it was designed prior to high speed transferes that contain much more data.

We're going to try a different modem. But any suggestions are welcomed.
