When I consider that a good deal of my time is spent running applications like Disk Defragmenter, Scandisk, Norton AV, Windows Update and Ad-Aware--none of which are available for the Mac platform--it doesn't make sense for me to "switch" to a Mac at this time._
Heh.

If you believe Apples marketing department, the new Mini is smaller than most packs of gum and weighs less than four quarters.
Umm, I think this person's mixed up the Mac mini and the iPod shuffle!
What an idiot...

HE sounds pretty serious to me which makes it rather scary that someone who is supposed to be technically knowledgeable (at least from the sound of his title) could be so ignorant about the mac in the first place. It has been ages since any mac had a floppy drive, and really never had ps2 connections. Mac osX as a stripped down OS ?
I shudder !!

hardware from 1995? yeah if you consider a 1.25 g4 to be equivalent to a 0.02 pentium.
non-standard display connector? sure if dvi and vga aren't standard.
c://applications? Is the c for crack cocaine?
safari not adhering to html? more like msn not adhering to html.
I could go on all day.

Dont freak out guys, the guy is not serious! The point is he knows all of those things, like you dont have to defrag a mac and hes basically making fun of windows in the fact that you have to waste all your time doing it hence what someone quoted above on how he spends all his time with spyware/virus crap that he wont have anything to do on a mac. ITS A JOKE!

It is funny. But I'd have liked the guy to include a line at the bottom saying that it IS sarcastic. It's almost TOO well written, so someone stumbling across it who doesn't know much about computers (i.e., the market segment that Apple is targeting) could easily be misled.

It's amazing that some people here still take it seriously, although many have posted already that it is only satire ! Guys, get a grip !

I knew it wasn't serious, the point I was making was it just wasn't funny. It was too stupid to be taken seriously, therefore he missed the sweet spot where people can get fooled.

In other words: "he's an idiot"

This thread has been a total waste of everyones time.

LOL that's great! Let down only by their slightly too obvious fanboyism. The message would have had a bit more impact if they'd kept schtumm.

I liked this quote under the pic of the mini
I could get a Mac mini computer for $499 and have no keyboard or mouse, no serial ports, no way to connect a printer, no PS/2 ports, no floppy drive, no 5.25" bays, no PCI slots, no speakers, and no Windows XP.
SOLD!!!!

I was really surprised at all of the people that have been taken in by this thing. Just imagine what would happen with this site if "rumors" wasn't in the headline of their website.

This one almost, well really it did, get me. I was almost shocked, but I have met people like this in the computer services industry, you know the ones, who strut around with their MSCE (crap) title.

Thank god it isn't real, but crap. Too well written, and pushed all the right buttons.

I just emailed him this little note!

Jorge,
Well, I think your comment is pretty damaging on the Apples MacMini Computer. Im a PC user myself. Make sure you know what the hell your talking about before righting bold statements. Since you graduated from devry, maybe you can be more open minded on technology that isnt personal basis only. Its almost like being a racist in the world of technology. Your ignorance is self pleasing! 15 min to notice the monitor is not connected right? Come on dude! Anti-Virus software. Whens the last time you heard of Mac getting a Virus attack! Dude, Devry isnt helping, go back to school and get some hands on training on all Technology, not just your cheap ass Dell PC.

If I mis-spelled a word, Im allowed to, I dont have a college or tech degree!
