My friend has a 15" flat panel Imac and needs (me) to install the internal memory chip. The memory has already been purchased from RAMJET. I know I need a torx-15 screwdriver to get into the internals, but beyond that what else do i need to look out for or do once i'm in there. Will I need to remove the heatsink/fan off the cpu? if so, I assume i'll need thermal paste (silver), which i already have.
While i'm in there I may replace the internal hard drive with something more respectable, this should be pretty standard, but is there anything i should beware?
I've installed ram in several unix servers and PC's so I have no fear of field stripping this thing and putting it back together.
Thanks in advance for your time, and effort.
