i plan on adding 2GB to my g5 when i get it, 512mb isnt gonna cut it for me... i want the 2x1GB modules... cheapest i've seen em for is $759, kingston brand, has anyone else here seen a cheaper place that carries em? I don't want generic kind, i prefer kingston, samsung, etc.. something reliable and dependable...

even a 1gb stick for a powerbook is cheaper, geez... like $239 or so...

Crucial has 1GB modules for $389.99 each with free shipping. However, if you've got the room, I'd go with the 512MB modules for $99.99 each.

Is your price from Kingston per chip or per pair?

Always Crucial. I've personally installed over 150 sticks of Crucial RAM at my workplace with narry a bad stick.

I've, sporadically over the years, used DMS www.datamem.com and have had no problem with them.
Their prices are decent too.

E.g.,

_512MB DDR PC3200 400MHz (Non ECC) 64x64 CL3 2.5v 184 Pin DIMM
_DM50 612
$101.25

_1GB DDR True PC3200 400MHz (Non ECC) 128x64 CL3 2.5v 184 Pin DIMM
_DM50 613
$239.00

_2GB Kit 2 x 1GB DDR True PC3200 400MHz (Non ECC) 128x64 CL3 2.5v 184 Pin DIMMs
_DM50 613 x 2
$478.00

_4GB Kit 4 x 1GB DDR True PC3200 400MHz (Non ECC) 128x64 CL3 2.5v 184 Pin DIMMs
_DM50 613 x 4
$956.00

PS: I'm in no way affiliated with DMS

NewEgg has Corsair Value Select modules for under $250, which is a steal. I like to go to NewEgg for memory because they cater to the "very-picky-about-their-RAM-because-they-need-to-be" PC Overclocker crowd. And of course, they're cheap and have really good customer service.
