do you think it's okay to name a baby after it's born? or should you always think of names for the baby before birth?

i say afterwards afterwards.

what about you?

Doesn't sex come before the baby and/or baby names?

Well, it's less likely to happen after the baby.

The silence is punctuated with doors being shut and windows being shuttered.

A tumbleweed meanders across the dusty street, apparently oblivious to the mayhem that is surely coming.

Finally i am impressed. You might not have a brain (since you have to ask just about anything), but you have balls.

Usually, from what I've heard and witnessed, the name comes after the child is born. You look at it, into it's eyes, and the name comes to you, though most have an idea of what they want the name to be, be it a boy or girl. I say wait 'til the child comes and you'll see what their name should be. I have ideas of a name for my first born son, but I won't know until that child is born, YEARS from now.
My parents named me when I was born though they had ideas before, now I'm stuck with a screwed up name. =)

My wife and I thought it out, looked up meanings and went over past family names. A lot of thought went into naming our kid. Beaux Solomon (first and middle). The name has great family history and the "x" is cool!

We named my first son before and I have another on the way that we have named already. We had a hard time on the second one, but like someone else mentioned - we looked at all the meanings and have incorporated family names as well. I don't know if the process of birth or looking into their eyes will help you decide any quicker....but either / or will work. Just name them before they are 2, or they may resent you.

I agree with most of the others. The couple discuss names prior to the birth. Usually the actual name is given after birth.
