www.ign.com

Has been my homepage for YEARS! Reviews, news, previews, updates, pics, videos, rumors, guides, faqs, and anything under the sun that's related to video games! Definately one of my favorite websites...period.

Sure hope you don't use Safari as your main browser then because IGN blows with Safari (until you turn off Javascript)....

Me likey blank page. That dates back to the days of dialup where waiting for an unwanted page was such a pain. It's not a big deal now on broadband, but I still prefer blanks.

mine is my server's server-status page. not that anything goes wrong with it, but it's nice to see what people have been looking at recently.

blankety blank-blank.
I don't want to be navigating to a pre-determined site every time I open a new browser window. Who really wants to do that and why ??

I'd like a blank one, so every time I open a window it doesn't load /., but then I'd forget to check it at all.

Apple's default Netscape page. I like the news and Apple propaganda. I even set my PC at work to do the same to throw Apple some more hits.

A nice blank page. I use Safari's pulldown items and tabs, so everything is usually a click away.

blank page. everything else is stupid. any link is just a click away in the bookmarksbar.

if the server hosting your "home page" is down, you wait for ever for your browser to boot...

I use a non-blank page. It is much more likely that I might want to read that page compared to a blank page. It requires no clicks. And a new page is still only a click away.

But I don't really have a reason for any particular page. Its significance is about as an important as an ankle_brains thread. I guess I figure the browser should display something. That way I know my internet connection is working.

My own of course.

Big fat rolleyes to the guy who suggested that the browser took longer to "boot" if the home page server was down. One can still click any bookmarks even if it's loading you know...
