It looks like that will be my only high-speed option here in NY. Just wondering if anyone else has it working on a Mac, their web site does not list Macs in the System Requirements.

Thanks,

I have heard of OOL, and it appears to be breathtaking! Typical download speeds are sensational. Unfortunately I have no more information. But from what I do know, if OOL is the "only" broadband service available to you, you're in luck.

I have OOL, and it's probably the best cable provider in the country. I don't much care for the Tri-State area as a whole, but this is one of the painfully few things that makes it bearable for me.

I ran it through a FreeBSD box, but there's no reason it can't work on a Mac. It's just a standard cable provider, like all the others. So if you see Mac system requirements for another provider, just assume those apply for OOL.

It works great, very few outage and speed is much faster than DSL. Go for it.
Also they use DHCP and not PPoE which has trickier support. I even share the connection over Airport without a hitch.

thanks for the info re PPPoE. I have used PPPoE and it stinks in my opinion.

OOL in New Jersey. It rocks. No outages or slowdowns, and it couldn't be easier to install and configure on a Mac. Plus, if you have a premium TV package like HBO they offer a discount for your internet service. Nice.

I'm using OOL on eastern Long Island. It rocks. It's
much better than the cable ISP I had before I moved up here.

go here and click on the Macintosh tab.
