is really one of the worst names I ever heard for a powerbook. Yeah, there were not many powerbooks that could be called anything with "giga"... , I agree...
But come on, Gigabook sounds pretty stupid, doesn't it?

Uh, where'd that come from?? I'd think that "MegaBook" would come first, and "TeraBook" afterwards.

Is this a good place for an argument?

It refers to the first PowerBook to reach 1 GHz, or the current 15" TiBook.

People like calling the previous generations "TiBooks" so now they're groping for a similar name.
THEY'RE CALLED POWERBOOKS! JUST CALL THEM POWERBOOKS!
I mean, even if "TiBook" is more convenient to use when writing on a forum or whatever, you'd look like an idiot saying it IRL. "tie-book"? Come on.

No reason to feel sorry. Not only is it more than unimportant what I (or you) think of "Gigabook", but it is also naturally that people have different tastes. In such cases there is no right or wrong...
Anyway, I'm right!

Ahhh, come ON! It's way out of my price range, too, but that didn't stop me from buying one!
(Alas, where would I be without my AmEx?)

I thought we all agreed on AlBook (Al Book) because of the Aluminum (replacing the Ti (titanium))
or what?

:: Apple has never, ever, released anything with the color 'ice'. ::
That's not technically true. Although commonly referred to as simply "the Bondi iMac", the original iMac was "ice and bondi."
Check out kBase 30654
I agree, I don't think "ice" is actually a good name for a color, as it really isn't a color at all!
