OpenOffice.org launch issue

When I try to launch OpenOffice.org, either manually or with one of the launch utilities I get this error message:
"/Applications/OpenOffice.org1.0.1/program/soffice.bin:
cannot open display "localhost:0"
Please check your "DISPLAY" environment variable as well as the permissions to access that display."
Any ideas how to correct that? I have waded through the man files, but none of my attempts have proved fruitful, and I am getting a bit overwhelmed by it all.

I am just showing what the error message said. I can access OpenOffice by launching soffice from the Applications menu in X11, but I was hoping be able to launch by double-clicking an OpenOffice document, which is what those launch utilities used to allow me to do.

There is a new updated OpenOffice launcher on Version Tracker. Search for it. It might help.

If you are using Apples X11, you must create a new item i your applications menu with the path to the sofffice script for it to work.

I do launch OpenOffice from the Applications menu, that is the only way I can. I used to be able to double click on an OpenOffice document and it would load the appropriate application but that has stopped working. That is when I get the message.

Well i don't know what the deal was, but it was fixed by a reinstall of OpenOffice.org.
By the way, check out Coool. It is a launcher for OOo with a spiffy GUI with nice icons for OOo documents.

Thanks for the tip on CoooL. This looks like something I've been hunting for. I'll give it a shot.
