I went for the iPod shuffle (1GB), iWork and iLife packages. Love the Mac mini but will hold off on that.

Nothing yet, I have a Mac and an iPod I'm happy with, so no need to go there. iWork and iLife might be on the list soon though, maybe along with 10.4 whenever that comes out.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

If the Mac mini was a G5 with the capability to add a Video card, I go for that. Otherwise, my next big investment has to be a PowerMac G5.

I have not bought anything, yet. I'll probably end up buying some shuffles for family members, provided that I can avoid the temptation to eat them.

I didn't buy anything yet, but I really like Keynote, and with the price drop I can finally afford it. I also plan to get Tiger when it's released.

Otherwise, I think Apple might have a hard time getting more money out of me for a while. I already have an iPod, and my iBook still has quite a bit of AppleCare left, so I don't see any major purchases in the near future.

mini Mac (but that get's me iLife '05 free.)

I wish the iPod shuffle would have come out before Christmas, because it would have made shopping a lot easier. I would have bought 5-7 on the spot.

Nothing so far.

I might end up getting the iShuffle. It is interesting for working out, at least now that I have figured out that you don't have to use it in shuffle mode. I'd find that mode useless and gimmicky. I like playlists and don't particularly want to jump randomly from Marais to Nine Inch Nails, or similar. But if I can download a playlist and take it running without the disc freezing (which happens with my current iPod), that could be useful. I would have liked a small screen though. Even something the size of a digital watch's that just gives the playlist number would have been nice. This is style instead of function, imho.

iLife irritates me because it bundles something I am interested in - an updated iPhoto - with software I have absolutely no interest in - Garageband, iMovie, and iDVD. I'll continue using the version of iPhoto I already have as it works well enough. The incremental upgrade to iPhoto isn't enough to justify the cost of the entire bundle.

iWork is similar. Pages would be interesting if I was a teenager in high school. For business purposes I need full Office compatibility, especially Word. I'll probably upgrade my current Office v.X to 2004 while I still qualify for the student rate. Of course, that is an annoying bundle as well. I have no interest in Entourage.

The mini is a pretty product, but I already have a Mac which still just works.

Nothing yet. I want the new iPhoto but I'm not interested in iMovie, iDVD and Garagband. So I'll keep using iPhoto '04. Also the price is bad. iWork --> I use Office. Final Cut HD --> I use Final Cut Pro . The Mac mini is really cool, but I have no use for it. I'm going to try to switch my dad with one of these. The iPod Shuffle --> well I have an iPod mini and I don't like the idea of being without a screen.
The only thing I'm going to buy is a 7200rpm HD upgrade for my PowerBook, a FW enclosure for my old HD and a lottery ticket (when I win I can buy a PowerMac and a PowerBook G5 when it comes out).

The more I think the more I am swayed but the features in this Rio:

details here

Ipod shuffle is cool but lacks the features that I think I could use on the long run! (so to speak!)

EDIT: Holding off a mini-mac purchase until the Tiger is released. This is the coolest mac ever!

Technically I haven't purchased anything yet, but I'll be getting iLife '05 as soon as it's available at CompUSA. I use GarageBand, iTunes and iPhoto the most, and periodically use iMovie and iDVD for family stuff.

The multi-track recording and caching of tracks onto the hard drive alone in GB make it worthwhile for me to upgrade.

I was tempted to get an iPod Shuffle for the gym, but if I did that then I wouldn't get much use out of my 3G iPod. A shuffle might make a good gift though.

But at $200 for 512mb, you might as well get an iPod mini, unless you're dying for flash.

As many others, nothing yet. But, as I mentioned on the Mac mini thread, I'll be getting a Mac mini for my nephew (most likeley sometime next month). Oh, and once it comes out, I'll be getting Tigger, too.

I currently have a iPod mini and considered the rio forge flash mp3 player, working out at the gym and running. I ordered the ipod shuffle because of the price. The expansion, fm reciever and stop watch are nice features. But $99 that convince me. I could buy a FM player and a stop watch for a few bucks each. If I need more space I still have the mini.
Thanx Apple for giving us what we want.
But I should still give the Rio props for being one of the first mp3 players to support the mac platform.
At least at the Asylum, they treat me with respect.

I want the iPod Shuffle for storage. Use it as a flash disk... then when i want to wipe it of data and go for a good run... then i have my music.

I do have a regular iPod, but I have been thinking about keeping that in the living room attached to my home theater.

There is more in there with that Rio than even a mini. I don't have a huge music collection for using ipod mini (even), I tend to listen to new alternative rock a lot as they come out on specific fm radio stations, if I like it I buy that song and probably hear it for a few months and then don't think of it again, because I have more new ones I'm listening to. So fm radio is a must for me I realized this a while ago. Anyway, I have not yet decided, I will be testing it out the FM reception in these Rio forge model and will post later if someone is interested.

With the exception of a few favorite bands, my kind of alternative rock subsided in the late '90s. I try to listen to rock stations occasionally, but most of what is played now just plain sucks, IMHO, no offense intended. When I'm on the go I'm either listening to my iPod or AM talk radio.
