Hey kids,

I sold my 20" iMac G5 1.8GHz for a new PowerMac Dual 1.7GHz. I had a 400GB SATA drive in the iMac and the Tiger install (10.4.1) setup exactly the way I wanted (CandyBar icon set, theme, cursors, I spent a damn long time getting it JUST right!).

Would I run into problems if I just dropped the 400GB drive in the new PowerMac and made it the startup drive? Are the builds of 10.4.1 for the Dual PowerMacs and the iMac G5s different enough to cause problems? If so, when I update to 10.4.2 (first thing I'll do) will it recognize that the computer is a PowerMac and write the proper bits for a PowerMac instead of an iMac, hence eliminating any problems I might run into (I'm a dreamer, ain't I)?

Thanks in advance!

It aught to work. The OS itself isn't hardware-specific at all, and turns off/on components like Bluetooth, etc. if they are detected at bootup. I cloned an install directly from a G4 450 to my Dual 2.0, and it worked without a hitch.
