That's ****ing ugly. Also, with those stupid fender flares and ugly snout he's drastically increasing the drag of his vehicle, and the heavy wheels and tires with increased rolling resistence isn't helping much either. What an idiot.

So how much HP will NOS add to a hybrid?
And what about one of those coffee can mufflers on a hybrid engine exhaust?
Where are the Type R stickers? I hear they not only add HP, but also extra MPG's onto a Prius.

Heh. Funny you should mention that. I put one on my old Prius as a joke.
I almost laughed out loud when some guy walking by asked me in all seriousness where I got that upgraded model of the Prius.

Fugly and they didn't stick to the concept drawing design (which was barely less ugly).

Actually, they'd do about the same thing as adding them to any other car, when the prius was using it's internal combustion engine for acceleration, it'd have more oomph. I always thought that'd be kinda neat. Build a prius up that hauls ass and gets good mpg.

Not a Prius, but how about the Volta hybrid?
0-60 in 4 seconds, and 30 mpg on the highway.

You know who's studio penned that right? Italdesign baby. Giugiaro, the same dude who did my car... and that cool alfa in the other thread.

That reminds me of that comic of the "design by committee" car, the one that's a hybrid sedan/convertible/pickup/hotrod/SUV thing, trying to be everything to everyone, and of course failing miserably. (Does anyone have that picture? I've been looking for it for a while.)

Joke or not, I would make fun of it, as would most people I know. We have no idea that it is a joke. I would just assume that it is an idiot with a Type R sticker on a Toyota. I have seen a bunch of those, this would be no different.

The "concept vehicle" seems to be right in line with my concept of fugly! The Prius has smooth lines and an elegant shape-why hose that up with a bunch of "surface detail?" And the colors!?!?!? Barf city!
I like Big Daddy's cars; they take me back to being a kid (and watching The Munsters, The Monkeys, and a lot of other sillly pop stuff at the time). And that also reminds me: WHERE'S MY FLYING CAR? Weren't we all supposed to have flying cars, and jetpacks and vacations on the moon by now? I feel cheated!

Well, close anyway. The Corvettes get close to 30 mpg from the EPA estimate, but generally they don't get that real-life AFAIK. The Volta is supposed to be real-life 30+ mpg.
Not that mpg really matters with these cars... And you could argue the Volta doesn't really count anyways, because it's a concept car.

Again, maybe you didn't get the joke. If I had a shitty car I'd put a Type R or VTEC sticker on it in a heartbeat. It's humorous.

This thread is so hideous that I'm going to have to balance it all out with a pic of a proper car.
Should carbon balance the Prius while it's at it too.

So what you are saying, is that the guys Toyota Prius is a shitty car, right?
BTW - there is no joke to get with the whole Type R badge thing on a Toyota, Geo, whatever.

I have a few friends who work for GM. Last fall they drove two Corvettes from Detroit to Ithaca and measured 31-32 mpg. Combined driving, and highway driving at 75+ mph would probably be less.
Then again, my car (Chevrolet) is rated by the EPA at 26/33, and during the summer I was measuring about 34 mpg at the pump. With colder weather, I'm now down to around 31-32, but it is possible to exceed EPA ratings based on driving habits.

Basically yes. It's economical, but I can't imagine it'd be fun to drive or very exhilirating.
