Does the Mac OS write all graphic files to disk when using a browser like the Wintel platform does? That was always a petpeeve for me.

It is not an "OS feature" but depends on what kind of browser you are using.

edit: it is much easier to save for example pictures with browsers available on the mac platform. In IE or OmniWeb for example, just drag the image to the desktop.

btw: your topic title isn't very clear. If you make a better title more people will look at this topic who can help you.
