It's a patent for the glass structuring they use, I imagine. Not something you'll see for sale anytime soon

which sounds quite like the glass staircase in the SoHo (and i imagine others) apple store. They're quite impressive, and worth a trip just to see them, if you're into that kind of thing

Nobody has mentioned this yet, but this isn't a patent. It's just an application, which may or may not end up as a patent. Applications are made public 18 months after they are filed, unless the applicant requests earlier publication--which must have happened in this case.
