Hi all,

I have a Ti 667 with 1Gb of ram running 9.2.2. The memory control panel will only let me create a ramdisk of around 258M. Is there any way to make it larger?

thanks in advance,
Greg

the memory control panel is capped at that amount... if you need a bigger ram disk I recommend RamBunctious, available at http://versiontracker.com/redir.fcgi...=3750/ramb.sit
Just make sure you set it to "Ram-only volume", or "Save at quit"--- the default option is "write-through" and completely defeats the speed advantages of having a ram disk.

Hmmm, okay, thanks for that info. I'll stop trying to get 9.2 to do it. Do you know if a ramdisk created with Rambunctious would be bootable. Also, if and when I ever get around to updating to Jaguar, will that let me creat larger ramdisks?

thanks again,
Greg

With my knowledge, 9.2 can't boot from a ramdisk. Ramdisks are initialized after the system is up and running.
You don't get ramdisk functions built in OS ten. 3 parties.. I don't know.

Sniffer gone old-school sig
