Global warming?
The Middle East?
Will Ferrell?
PowerPoint about cats?

I don't care what this thread is about, as long as it's not about the HypePhone...

No, I honestly don't want an iPhone. About 50% of the new threads during the last few weeks has been about the iPhone. In 7 years on this forum I've never seen a subject that generated as many threads. Sure it's exciting for Apple and Apple fans like us, but I just don't get the hype. I agree it's probably the most revolutionnary phone out there, but even if I'm a gizmo and gadget freak, I don't like cell phones. The idea of being accessible at all time is not for me.

Therefore starting a symbolic thread about something else than an iPhone. I don't even escape the trend 'cause this thread IS about the iPhone in another kind of way....

I know OSX did generate more threads than anything else over the years, I'm talking about momentarily taking all the place. Generating an insane amount of threads in such a little period of time. Compare the iPhone posts versus the Leopard posts. There is more than 15,000 articles written all over the media in just a few weeks, not even the iPod generated such a buzz. It's usually what I call hype. The iPhone is just a device, although I agree it's a neat device that will change the face of the industry, but it's not the technical core of anything. OS X is another story in itself, it's so much more than a phone. It's the core of Apple, no pun intended. It's even the core of the iPhone itself...

I'm more fascinated by the phenomenon than the phone.

I hate talking on the phone, and I always have my laptop with me, so I have pretty much no interest in an iPhone.

Cellphones suck.

Lefebvre is actually a last name in French. The "b is silent, so it reads Lefèvre (sound clip included).

I'm only seeing 6 out of a hundred threads on page 1 and 2.

It was dying off and you brought it up again....

I'm actually French Canadian which is worst by some standard.

On another note, besson3c got me thinking. What happened to Steve Guttenberg? He deserves the publicity more than that lovely phone.

You don't remember when practically every single thread was about OS X betas?

You are all wrong. All of you.

A whole thread in which we can talk about anything that isn't an iPhone and not a single one of you is talking about boobies. Even after the OP's sig hints at a possible direction of conversation for you.

I blame Ikea. And that estrogen they put in your water supply to make you more compliant with their tax demands.

MacCentral really went crazy over the iPhone. I believe they even flew out to New York so they could get one 4 hours before California.

So far, it seems that my last name is becoming the point of interest of this thread. So maybe this thread is really about something else then the iPhone after all.

My first name is Dany if you want to continue the discussion.

I would have been just as happy only being told that your first name starts with a 'D', but your friendly cooperation is heart-warming.

Edit: I hope someone is posting in this thread from an iPhone.

Thanks for the help Dakar. I like the idea of someone posting from an iPhone on this iPhone thread not about the iPhone. The layers of irony are building up.

I hear the 2nd generation will also fix the glitch of having to talk about your feelings and the meaning of your relation after the fellatio...
