Wow - I never thought I'd see MY name put forward! Balance and common sense are descriptions that have never been applied to me before!
I think you would make a good mod too. Intelligent and not blinded by your own opinion.

i had a reply, sure. your inbox is full now, so:
the main point of what i said there, was not to attack you; it was to point out to that lot, that you're not the best man for the job, going on the points that i raised. like i said: not an attack.

Shoot Lerk, I was trying to make fun of myself for being such a hot head. Sorry about not being clear / making a not funny joke.
I should've appended a bunch of s.
[yer PM's full too and e.mail over quota or somesuch]
Oh, and congratulations about Dayton Daily being a finalist in can't-remember-the-name award...saw it in the Times.

It's not necessary, anyway. There are much simpler ways, and they generate revenue, too.
How many here would stick around if MaCNN was a subscription-based service rather than an advertiser-supported service?
Say that the cost was low, like US$40/year.

really? which Times. ? Do you mean the NYT?
What award? (curious now)
What sometimes happens is I work on a big project, doing the information graphics, and the project wins a big award but the dorko editor neglects to inform everyone who worked on the project.

Finalist (not the award winner): Ken McCall, Dale Dempsey and Martha Hild of The Dayton Daily News for "Down on the Factory: Cheap Food, Hidden Costs."
see here: http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/presspol/goldsmith/
The 'vard took out an advertisement in yesterday's NYT.

Yeah, I did the graphics for that series. Artists don't usually get a name mention, even though there were 21 graphics.

boots, I'd be honored to be the matriarchal tyrant --er, moderator--of MacNN! Yet while I think I waste a lot of time here, it's not quite enough time to watch over the lounge. A mod must be eternally vigilant, lest someone hijack threads or post whorishly... a mod must be always ready to layeth down the smack.
oooh, that sounds dirty.
If someone else gets nominated for mod, does that mean demonhood can be nominated for saint?

FYI, and just for the record, I'd like to state that I'm insulted that no one suggested me, even though I'd never do it.

Well, given that this was make-believe, and that there is no way in ... um ... no way I'd do it (thanks to those who suggested me)...
I think your way to "layeth down the smack" would be intresting. Your smackdowns are some of the best on the boards!
It would certainly make things interesting. I usually check out locked thread cause demonhood smacks pretty well too.
I guess I should also go on record with a faux nomination of Zigzag too. He's pretty even in things. That and I tend to agree with him alot.

It's a funny fact how most people even those who others would want to mod... would never wanna do it. hehe...
Honestly I'd sooner have it remain a free for all with minimal modderation than I would having more modderators... modderators tend to hate me

Zimphire and Ca$h would work well as mods, so long as either both or neither of them got the position.
I mean, think about it. They both obviously care about this forum. And they'd have the threat of Mutually Assured Destruction if they ever got out of hand

Uhh, if anyone paid 40 bucks a year just to post at these boards I would question their sanity.
Cipher is the only person mentioned that would be a good mod, why?
1. He is totally impartial and non-caring
2. He doesn't take nor deal B.S.
3. He is sadistic and evil when need be
4. He is not religious
5. He has a skull in his sig
6. He thinks Zimphire is a tool
7. Zimphire is a tool

And I don't say that like it's a bad thing, it's nice to have some constancy in one's life. I certainly wouldn't want to avoid that multi-coloured galah!
