I've tried every which way I could think of to get calculator.app to update its currency rates.
Clicked on "Update Curreny Rates" in the Convert Currency dialogue, clicked on "Update Currency Exchange Rates" in the Convert menu, deleted the FinancialRates.plist inside the Calculator.app package, and the one in ~/Library/Application Support/Calculator/.

The only currency that gets updated is the US Dollar -- to a value of 1.00.

Now I know that the US $ is the most important currency of all, but still
Or is it a ploy by Apple so we can't easily calculate how much they overcharge us non-US shoppers in the Apple Store?

What makes you think that they are not updated?

Well anyway, when I wanted to take a screenshot of the red "last updated 2003-11-24" text underneath the currency drop-down menues, of course what did not work repeatedly this afternoon suddenly worked again

Yeah - wasn't working for me this afternoon either.

I assume it's temporary.
