Anyone else notice MacNN's increasing reliance on rumors instead of fact?
For example, for those that visit the MacNN site every day noticed the announcement of Apple Stores opening in Valley Fair, Fashion Valley, and The Falls. The original announcement contradicted itself in that the headline said one date of opening, while the body of the article mentioned another.
A few of us posted to the article asking which date it was (11.17 or 11.23), why the
Apple retail site hadn't listed dates for these stores, and where MacNN got this information. Please note that this article is conveniently missing from the archives, along with the 2-3 posts commenting on the improper journalism of MacNN.
The very next day, without apology, MacNN posted a new
notice, rewritten to state a 11.23.01 opening for these stores. Still, there were no sources listed, and the
Apple retail site, to this day (11.19.01 @ 10:30a) hasn't listed dates for these stores.
So, MacNN, what's your explanation? Please explain why the Apple site hasn't listed this date for the grand opening of these stores. Please explain who your source is/was for the announcement. Please explain why Apple would give such short notice for the opening of these three stores if they indeed open on 11.23.01, instead of the traditional couple week notice.
