I am thinking of buying the PowerBook and suddenly came in a thought.

I can buy a Apple 20 inch display (or bigger if you want) and hook it up with the 15 inch PowerBook (or 17/12-inch if you want). Then place it standing up with some kind of mounting system behind the display. Wouldn't it just as think as and as nice as the new iMac G5?

Now, anyone is currently running their system like this? Or any standing mounts for the PowerBook are currently shipping?

Waiting for your input!

My PB slides right underneath the cinema dispaly (not the metal ones), so there's no need to stand it up behind hit.

Not to be negative but wouldn't it be a pain to "unplug" the PB from behind the monitor when you need it.

Good idea but not very pratical, most users would rather unplug the monitor and just grab their PB from the desk and go.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

also, wouldn't this be a waste of all that screen real estate you could have if you used both the powerbook AND the display?

I just plug mine into my 19" LCD and use both monitors in spanning mode. I don't see why you'd want to always have your PB behind your monitor... though I can see why you'd want to keep it closed for certain things (IE: games and the like). Besides... the iMac has a G5 and isn't all that expensive... mise well just buy one of those!
