Gotta ask the requisite question: You tried Image Capture, right?

Have you tried a card reader?

Or the software Canon supplied with the camera?

I use a LaCie USB card reader and it works great. I think it was $20.

I use the card reader so I don't drain the camera's batteries during file transfers.

From Canon's website:
"Also, movie files shot with PowerShot cameras cannot be downloaded in OS X via Image Capture or iPhoto. We suggest the use of ImageBrowser or an external card reader."

My Fuji FinePix just docked straight onto the desktop, then I could just drag whatever was on it out, movies, and pictures.

My camera does that too, it just shows up on the desktop as an external drive. I can drag and drop whatever I want in or out.

I used to think that. Then I discovered Image Capture. It downloads movies from my Canon S300 too.

I guess you don't either.

Canon doesn't recommend it. It might not work for everyone.

The best way to go is with a external card reader. Cheaper, faster, and doesn't drain batteries.
