I'm busy, but bored mindless. Hence this thread.

What's your favorite smell? Weird stuff, food, whatever.

My top five smells:

1) Gasoline - I wish there was a non-flammable aerosol for home use. Really.
2) Creosote - this goop is used on train tracks, wonderfully nostalgic.
3) Tennis Balls - it must be a fresh can. It smells like green, if green had a smell other than nature's own.
4) New Car - a delight, but it must be a real new car, not that faux nue stuff.
5) New Electronics - maybe it's the lead, mercury and radon gas, but damn, who doesn't love that synthetic freshness.

Ditto on the gasoline. Certain grass has a very distinct smell when freshly-cut also. Oh, you can't forget New Apple Product smell.

The inside of a running Hammond organ: warm tubes, oil, OLD electronics, Hammond oil, and wood. Accompanied by the whir of the motor and generator.

2 is toxic too- a preservative for railroad timber and telephone poles.
It's a very distinct smell, kind of like burnt charcoal and crude oil together.

You should try that.
Ok I kid. Don't. Seriously you should be a chemist you seem to be attracted to alkanes and aromatic compounds, as we as war gases!

I know. Seriously the new car smell is pleasant, but loaded with aromatic solvents : and these aren't good for ya especially in a closed environment such as a car.

It's funny, I've been told that before. Not that I go around sniffing dangerous chemicals, but when I do, I enjoy it.
