For some reason, iTunes stalls now when I try to sync my new 5g iPod. I called apple, and they said it might be the usb card, but it does the same thing on the 1.1 bus. I've reinstalled iTunes once already.

Anyone know what may be going on?

Disk utility seems to be going insane, as well.

Seems to have been a problem with the iPod itself, as diagnostic modes USB test gave an error code of 0x22FA05. I went to the apple store and exchanged it, but the new one gives the same error code, and neither my Powermac nor iBook are recognizing it, and if I launch iPod Software Updater/Restore it stalls, and I have to force quit it.

I've had exactly the same problem with mine. Would love to get the bottom of it.

I don't see how you think it's the iPod if your new one does the same thing, though. You might have been very unlucky, though.

Have you had any more luck with diagnosing a problem? Mine only does it with large syncs.

I might take mine in to the Apple Store and have it swapped. Hope they don't mind that I got it in New York.

They shouldn't - just so long as you have your reciept and warranty.
