So basically Lufthansa is offering Gray Powell, the man who lost the fourth generation iPhone prototype in a bar, a free flight to Munich and promising him "a happy time." I kind of don't understand this, but German humour is rather foreign to me. Thoughts?

Among Gray's last facebook entries made from the prototype, were mentions of just how good the German beers were. Read that way, they were so good, they helped him forget a priceless prototype.

Not sure where Lufthansa enters the picture, but it does sound like a product endorsement.

Seems simple enough. Cost to Lufthansa of flight to Germany, effectively $0. Huge amounts of brand exposure from jumping onto massive internet bandwagon...priceless. Oh no hang on that's Mastercard.

Steve Jobs emailed them and asked that it be "one way".

I say it's brilliant and cost effective. If it will work, I doubt it but strike while the iron is hot!

Brilliant PR move, after all the negative publicity of volcano-ash closures and disgruntled passengers.
