Might as well have a thread for this now it's our turn to go crazy and vote!

My prediction for the result is that the LibDem vote will collapse as people find that they can't actually bring themselves to vote for them. The labour share should hold steady as only pretty hard core voters will stay with Gordon and David Cameron will sweep up the failed LibDem voters. Result will be a (only just) hung parliament leading to some interesting scraps as Brown and Cameron both try to become Prime Minister.

It's been a weird campaign with no party really addressing any of the actual issues such as immigration and the deficit which has lead to an air on unreality. No one really knows who will do what and what will happen after the election.

I'm pegging Labour to win clear - same will happen as last time: England will vote Tory and the Scots and Welsh will prop Labour up.

Last thing the Tories need is a win. Whoever gets in for the next five years won't be getting in for a generation after that.

Plus, Camoron is a pinko. Blair Mk3 (Mk2 is Rudd, Mk4 is Barry).

Very happy for the Tories ATM. The loss of Smith is damning for Labour it appears. Also, kudos to BBC's excellent site setup.

So what is it with the Lib Dems and their inability to win elections?

IMO its because people didn't have the balls to vote for the outsider, and voted the Conservatives!

I voted Lib. Dem... pretty disappointing result for them, given their apparent strength in the run up!

Essentially, they're the "Californians" of British politics. Nuts, fruits and flakes. Utopian dreamers with little clue.
It's real hard to pin them down as nutters on any specific policy point, you have to take it as a whole.

The problem is, as in a lot of countries, that they're all scum. Ref : expenses scandal.

Clegg doesn't seem that much of a nutter to me. Cameron and his Eton boys have no idea what life is like for Joe Bloggs. Gordon IS a moron - like the song says. Anyway, the Scots should look after themselves. I'd give them independence in a heartbeat. Same for the taffs. Lets get England run by English for the benefit of the English. I know that this sounds a bit BNP, so be it.

If Gordo had an ounce of honesty in him, he'd resign, but its all about staying in power. Scum the lot of them.

They hide it well.
For example, everyone seems to think that Cable is some kind of financial genius. Yet their policy is to cut tax for everyone except "the rich" and subsequently punish "the rich" by introducing things like a "mansion tax" (essentially a wealth tax on property over £2m) and "closing loopholes".
All that a mansion tax would do is bring down property prices across the board so most properties don't attract the tax - everyone would be thrown into negative equity within a couple of years. As as the libs chase the tax and the thresholds come down, the country would go tits up.
And these silly little boys seem to think that their combined brain-power is higher than that of the left big toenail of Abramovich's lawyer. It isn't.

Bit harsh to label the LibDems as nutters. What they essentially lack is credibility. As anyone is sales will tell you changing peoples buying decisions is really really hard as the core motivators are always emotional, not rational. Yes people can rationally say in a poll that they intend to vote LibDem but when the chips are down they revert to what they feel comfortable with.

Looks like both Brown and Cameron are going to claim the right to govern. What neither is counting on is that the Queen has a mean right hook and is flaming mad, and she's not going to take it any more!

Because he used to be an economist. Cable is the most oversold politician we have. Not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. However he's still smarter than Darling or Osbourne. Because he didn't have any chance of actually coming to power he was able to be more honest about the causes of the recession than the others.

Harsh, but accurate.

IDK... IMHO, the Lib Dems have a lot of power now. They stole enough of the vote away from Tories and Labour that both parties will have to fight over the Lib Dem's favour to pass laws.

Clegg has really ruled out a deal with BRown already. It seems it's Cameron or Bust really. WIll they try to lever Osbourne out and Cable in? Would be a populist move I think.

I can see another election coming within 12 months

An election in 12 months? Hopefully if that happens then they'll have figured out a way to let everyone get their vote in

Camoron is now the UK prime minister.
Maybe some kind of deal with the Lib Dems to gain power, maybe not.

Another election within the year? Probably.

The conservatives in California must be the bran clusters, sweet on the outside, but the end result is sh*tting something horrible.

I'm somewhere in the middle, like Captain Crunch. I think San Francisco is mostly Fruit Tarts.

OK, I'm lost on the whole breakfast metaphor.

The best part about the Gordon Brown term was when he left his mic on and complained about the fat bigoted woman.

I liked it when Ye Olde Snotgobbler had a bit of a Freudian slip.
Look at them. All of them. Bunch of tw@ts. Where's Guy Fawkes when you need him?
