My faithful two-year-old 15" TiBook's battery has stopped charging recently, making it impossible to use the computer without being plugged in.

The battery started behaving erratically, with charge decaying from 98% down to about 70% as you'd normally expect and then plunging to 2% in an instant.

Now it doesn't charge at all.

Is there a way to condition the battery, reset power management, or do anything at all other than buying a new battery at $120?
