I did a clean install and had xvid/divx avi's running fine on quicktime 6, but I cannot remember what i installed to make this work. Now i'm just getting a blank white screen with no sound.
does anyone know what i can install to make the avi's work on QT7? thanks.

hmm i installed that and I can now play xvid/divx but I don't have any sound. Are there any codec packs out their for audio?

edit: NVM, i just checked the audio is encoded in ac3 and it seems that there is no decoder for quicktime

Divx 5.2.1 plugin
http://www.divx.com/

3ivX plugin
http://www.3ivx.com

AC3 codec
[search for it at http://www.macupdate.com/]

XVID codec
[search for it at http://www.macupdate.com/]

Just a warning. The Divx codec isn't entirely compatible with QT 7. Some apps will display two "Help" menus with the codec installed. And movies minimized to the Dock will get stuck there. So don't minimize the QT player to the Dock.
