It takes a special breed to be called a jackass by the Macalope. Today's story about the supposed iPod nano killer is just purely irresponsible. The original source of the rumor didn't even mention the iPod, yet MacNN saw fit to write the headline the way they did. We all know that the calls for the Zune to kill off the iPod were unfounded. Now I guess it's time to go after the nano. The only reasons I can think of for MacNN doing this are to troll for as many hits as possible and because they wanted to be the first in the line of tech sites calling for the death of the nano. Shame on you MacNN.

Or the nutters who think we are immoral monsters who lack family values. If you're angry about iPod killer gossip you'll really be pissed at iFreedom killer articles.

The article seems pretty standard fair, you (the OP) seem to be overly sensitive to articles highlighting a competitor's product. There's been plenty of ipod killer articles floating around the net and even in "respected" magazines. Its what publishers use to catch a readers eye - it worked in your case. Advertising is the same thing they use puffery to over promise on a product.
Macnn is not cnn, or 60 minutes and I don't think they violated any journalistic ethics. Additionally we also know that Microsoft is trying to knock the iPod off of its perch so it is accurate in that sense even of the article never mentioned the ipod.
Apple has to keep innovating and keep trying to make consumers happy, otherwise companies like Microsoft will over take them. That's capitalism for ya.
