Ok, so last Tuesday one of my cats pulled my Olympus FE-130 down from an shelve and it hit the floor - first everything seemed ok with the camera, but during this weekend I discovered that the photos I took all have greenish tint.

So, what can be wrong with it, can it be fixed? Or should I start looking for a new camera?

Take the camera apart, remove the lcd panel, imagine doing something cool with it, then throw the whole pile in the garbage. At least that's what I did.

Send it to China. The kids love to take these things apart and clean them with ammonia.

Are they green on your computer or green on the camera LCD?

How old is your camera? What are the specs?

A guy in town broke his Canon camera last year, newish model same as mine, and it cost him about 75% of the cost of the camera to get it fixed. (Busted LCD in his case) He opted to get it fixed, whereas I would have just bought a newer model.

It may just be better in the long run if you buy a new camera rather than fixing an already busted one.

Start looking for a new cat.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Don't blame the cat. Its natural crazy ways were known to him before he brought it in.

Sell it on craigslist as a "modified / hacked" camera. Hippies love that crap.

You have to sell cats on craigslist. If you give them away for free someone will "modify/hack" it.

The camera is roughly 1 year old and it's a Olymous FE-130 5.1 megapixel, Steves Digicams - Olympus FE-130 Zoom - User Review (I know, not really the most advanced, but I like it, it's small and handy to carry around)...

The pictures, when shown on my computer also have a green tint to them - which they didn't have before it was knocked down.

If the verdict here (from some one who knows about digital cameras) is that it would be too expensive to get fixed, I'll go for a new camera - the Olympus only costed £69 ($141).

Then it might be a Canon PowerShot A560 or A570 IS.

Good advise.

Anytime it costs 75% to repair or even maybe 50% to repair, your better off buying new.

Reason: They might fix the original problem, but 3 months down the road when something else goes wrong then you are right back in the same situation, you have to pay big bucks to get it fixed.

Almost all repairs cost a lot of money.
