At my work we have just opened a new office and we aren't seeing any printers, on the macs that have moved to this new office.

Here's the situation.
Printers in both places, all HP 4050TNs.
The have appleshare turned on.
Printserver in the old office (PC w/ appleshare installed). The macs there have never had a problem seeing printers there.

I've talked to our sys admin, and he says he's never had the appletalk turned on in any of the offices. As i understand mac printing, it goes over appletalk. is a printserver necessary for printing over the network?

Also what is the limitation between appletalk and how far it "sees"? The only way the macs communicatebetween the offices is through entering the server IP address.

thanks
