I have three questions:
What's the average pay in the United States?
Are benefits (health, retirement, dental) part of the position?
How many hours a week does a Genius average?
|
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

1. Don't know the average pay, but when the Oxmoor* (Louisville, KY) store first opened, the average pay at that store was $15.50.
2. Benefits are part of the position as long as it's full time.
3. Hours depend on staffing and how busy the store is, but you can get 40 hours a week no problem. Just don't expect overtime.
*I used to work at the Oxmoor store when it first opened.

On average, about 7x24=168. Just like everybody else.

1. Genius pay has been going down and down. I wouldn't expect more than $30K/yr.
2. Yes.
3. The Genius position is full-time only, so it's 40 hours. Don't expect to go under or over. (Technically, a FT position can go as low as 32 hours, but it's just not done.)

Would Apple really hire a non-believer? What's next? Bob Jones University starts ordaining ministers for the Church of Satan?

Wow, that's low.
I guess it's the good old supply & demand, there are more "geniuses" out there than positions.

IIRC, he wasn't. He liked the sales side better.

Mind you, my guesstimate is more a guess, just based on hearsay. Either way, you'll make more money doing Mac tech work elsewhere.

Your guess sounds about right. I was offered a position as a genius and at the time it was $17-18/hour and that was 3 years ago.
