Hi,

So, I have a 15" Al PB (1.25GHz) with a broken (cracked) screen . Applecare won't cover the repair.
I have found my self in possesion of an older 15" Ti PB screen. My question is:
Can I use a Ti PB screen to replace the broken screen in my Al PB? They are both the same size!
Where would I find instructions on how to do so?
Thanks in advance,
-B

The answer to your question is no, you can't interchange the two. They have different hinge designs that would make it impossible to transplant the whole screen. Although, I'm not sure about if it is possible to transplant just the screen without the bevel. Someone more qualified should answer that question, but I suspect not.

I'm guessing he's referring to just the panel, not the entire top case of the machine. It may work if the LVDS cable connectors are the same on both and in the same location. I never worked on the 15", so I couldn't say for sure. I bet PBfixit would know.
