I hate HP. They have the Windows drivers available for FREE, but the Macintosh drivers... nooooo. You have to buy a stupid CD for $30.

Anyone have the scan software for an HP 5300c scanner? I'm pretty sure I accidently threw the CD away and I can't find it anywhere. HP doesn't have it for download anymore (I think it had ScanWizard, an extension, and a Photoshop plugin.)

If someone could email it to me I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks!

I think that this is what you are looking for

http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/softwar...bmit.x=5&cc=us

If this link doesn't work go to hp.com, then click on SUPPORT AND DRIVERS then type in SCANJET 5300, you will get a list of compatible scanners. I picked 5300c. You will then see a list for Mac OS 8, 9 and X.

hope this works

Thanks, but that's where it ends. They only offer UPDATES to the software (which you have to have previously installed) and the link to download the software leads to an order form for the CD.

Just hoping someone here has the software. I need to get my scanner working.

I found a company that makes 3rd party scanning drivers called Lasersoft. They make a line of drivers called Silverfast which support a TON of different scanners.

It comes in a Photoshop plugin and generic TWAIN aquire.

I hope it works. Plus, it supports OS X. You can hook up an old HP 3c Scanner (one of my favorite modles) to an OS X box and it should work.

I'll know when I get home. Wish me luck!

Oh, just in case anyone else needs scanner support, here's their webpage. You can download their beta and prerlease software for free, or buy the full program for $70 which includes like 100 different models of scanners.

I seem to recall another thread somewhere on here about using their SCSI scanner in OS X.
